At Azure Aviation Academy, our Private Pilot Program is designed for those ready to take the first step toward becoming a pilot. Whether you're starting with zero experience or finally pursuing a lifelong dream, this program provides the structure, personalized instruction, and real-world preparation you need to earn your wings.

With experienced instructors, one-on-one mentorship, and a focus on safety and confidence-building, we’ll help you develop the skills, knowledge, and certifications required to fly as a Private Pilot—opening the door to both recreational flying and future aviation goals.

From Zero Hours to Private Pilot

Our step-by-step training roadmap outlines the exact path from your first flight to earning your Private Pilot certificate. Each stage builds on the last, providing the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to become a safe, confident, and capable pilot. From mastering the fundamentals to preparing for your check ride, this roadmap shows how we guide you through every milestone of your Private Pilot journey.

GROUND TRAINING

Ground training equips you with the knowledge needed to pass both the FAA Knowledge Exam and the FAA Practical Exam. This portion of your training ensures you're fully prepared for the written test and confident for the oral portion of your check ride.

- Estimated 40 Hours of Ground School

  • Covers various topics, such as flight planning, performance, weather, aircraft systems, etc.

FLIGHT TRAINING

During flight training, you'll develop the hands-on skills needed to safely and confidently operate an aircraft—starting with basic maneuvers and building toward solo flights, cross-country navigation, and practical real-world flying.

  • Stage 1: Pre-Solo Flight Training

  • Stage 2: Initial Solo & Cross-Country Flight Training

  • Stage 3: Cross-Country Solo & Check-ride Preparation

CHECK-RIDE PREP

The final phase of your training ensures you're fully ready to earn your certificate. We’ll make sure all FAA time and experience requirements are met, and focus on refining your skills and knowledge so you feel confident and prepared to pass your check ride—the practical exam that puts everything you've learned to the test.

Verify Eligibility Requirements

Before beginning your Private Pilot training, we’ll help you verify that you meet all FAA eligibility requirements. This includes confirming that you meet the minimum age, English proficiency, and medical standards required to start training and earn your Private Pilot certificate.

Able to obtain a third-class FAA medical certificate
