No prior flying experience is required to start training at Azure Aviation Academy. Our programs are designed to take you from beginner to licensed pilot at your own pace. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to advance your skills, we offer training programs for all levels.

The duration of your flight training depends on several factors, including the program you choose and your personal availability. On average, students can complete their Private Pilot Certificate in around 2 to 6 months, while more advanced ratings, such as Instrument or Commercial Pilot, may take additional time. At Azure, we offer flexible scheduling to help you progress at your own pace.

We offer flexible scheduling options to accommodate both full-time and part-time students. Whether you’re pursuing flight training full-time or balancing it with a job or school, we can design a training plan that works for you. Our Part 61 training model allows for customized scheduling and pacing.

Yes, you must be at least 16 years old to build solo time for a Private Pilot Certificate. To apply for the Private Pilot Certificate, you must be at least 17 years old. However, there is no upper age limit

Although a medical certificate is not required to begin initial flight training, you will need a third-class medical certificate issued by an FAA-approved medical examiner to fly solo. It’s a good idea to schedule your medical exam prior to beginning flight training to ensure there are no issues before starting your training. If you need help finding a medical examiner, feel free to ask.

We use well-maintained, reliable aircraft including the Piper Archer II, Cessna 172L, and Cessna 150G. All of our aircraft are equipped with modern avionics and are ideal for student training.

We offer rolling enrollment, meaning you can start your training at any time that works for you. Once your application is submitted and your documents are processed, we can schedule your first flight lesson.

At Azure Aviation Academy, we offer Part 61 flight training, which provides more flexibility compared to the structured curriculum of Part 141. While Part 141 may be better for students seeking the R-ATP (Restricted Airline Transport Pilot) certificate, Part 61 offers a more personalized training schedule and can be completed more quickly, often at a lower cost.

If you’re currently training at another school and wish to transfer to Azure Aviation Academy, we’ll help make the transition as smooth as possible. We’ll review your previous training, ensure all necessary credits are transferred, and create a plan to continue your education without losing momentum.

Yes! Many of our students choose to complete their training while earning a degree in aviation. You can complete your flight training with us while attending college programs such as the one at Kansas State University Salina.
